Common Questions
-
You will be emailed intake and consent forms before your visit. If possible, have these filled out before arriving at the clinic. Alternatively, you can fill out paper copies of the forms when you arrive at the clinic.
Arrive a few minutes early to meet our administrative team and organize your insurance and any billing questions. Please bring your benefits card if you would like us to direct bill your insurance company.
Bring your referral if you were referred by your doctor.
For physiotherapy appointments, dress comfortably as you may be asked to move around. For upper body issues, it is best to wear a loose fitting, short sleeved top. For hip and knee issues, you may wish to wear or bring shorts. If you forget, no worries, we have clothing on hand to change into if required.
Bring a list of questions you would like to discuss.
-
We reserve your appointment time especially for you. This being the case, we require 24 hours' notice for cancellation or rescheduling of any appointment. A cancellation fee will be applied for physiotherapy and massage therapy appointments cancelled within 24 hours.
Appointments outside the 24 hour notice period can be cancelled or rescheduled from the online booking portal. Or you can email anytime, or call the clinic during regular business hours. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and any such issues, or concerns regarding the cancellation policy may be discussed with the treating therapist.

In most cases, it is not necessary to have the results of your diagnostic test prior to seeing a physiotherapist. In most cases, the results of the diagnostic tests will not change the initial treatment plan. Specifically, if you are awaiting imaging results for a knee injury (ligament and/or meniscus), shoulder injury (labrum, rotator cuff tear), or back injury, the results of the test are not necessary to determine the appropriate physiotherapy treatment.
With your permission, our physiotherapists have access to any imaging (x-ray, MRI, CT scans) done in NB. The test results are important for making surgical decisions, but often the physiotherapy treatment is based on improving your primary complaints (pain, loss of function, etc).
If you are not sure if physiotherapy treatment is appropriate until imaging is completed, you have the option to discuss your situation with the physiotherapist. Just call the clinic to book a free 15 minute discovery call.
-
Yes, you can attend your pelvic health physiotherapy appointment while on your period. Your physiotherapist is experienced and comfortable working with patients during their menstrual cycle.
If you have any concerns or feel uncomfortable, feel free to discuss them with your physiotherapist, who can adjust the treatment as needed. Your comfort and health are the top priorities.
-

Insurance Questions
-
We are able to bill most insurance companies directly for your physiotherapy, massage and acupuncture treatments. Counselling and dietitian services vary depending on your plan. Speech Therapy is not able to be direct billed. Sometimes, problems are encountered when billing directly to insurance companies. We will do our absolute best, but we cannot guarantee that we will successfully be able to invoice directly on your behalf.
Your insurance company protects your privacy, and as a result we are not able to access information about your coverage. You should speak to your company about the details of your plan, as every insurance plan/policy is unique and may have maximums per treatment and/or calendar year.
As the policy holder, it is your responsibility to contact your insurance company and confirm the exact details of your coverage including requirements for physician requisitions.
Our front desk staff would be happy to assist you with any questions regarding your insurance coverage for our services.
You may be required to pay a deductible or make a co-payment if your insurance plan defines so. Deductibles & co-payments are due at the end of your visit.
We are only able to direct bill to your primary insurance plan. We are not able to do any co-ordination of benefits to secondary plans (spouse or other parent’s plan).
-
Our therapists do not require a referral to assess or treat you. However, some insurance companies require a physician or nurse practitioner referral for reimbursement.
It's best to check with your insurance provider to understand their specific requirements.
Our front desk staff are happy to help answer any questions regarding your insurance coverage.

Emsella Financing Questions
-
Yes, your physiotherapy extended health benefits insurance can cover the cost of Emsella HIFEM treatments. Your HIFEM treatment is considered regular physiotherapy treatment and your receipt will reflect this. We are able to direct bill most insurance companies, but as with all physiotherapy treatments, the amount of reimbursement may vary depending on your plan. You should speak to your company about the details of your plan, as every insurance plan/policy is unique and may have maximums per treatment and/or calendar year.
You can also use your Health Savings Account (HSA) for this treatment.
It’s always best to check with your insurance provider for specific coverage details. Our clinic staff is available to help with any questions.
