Lymphedema
Lymphedema is a condition characterized by swelling, usually in the arms or legs, caused by a buildup of lymph fluid. This buildup occurs when the lymphatic system, which is responsible for draining excess fluid from tissues and fighting infection, is compromised or damaged.
Lymphedema can be the result of genetic factors. Or, it can result from damage to the lymphatic system following surgery, radiation therapy for cancer, infection, trauma, or other medical conditions that affect lymphatic drainage.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD): Gentle massage techniques to stimulate lymphatic flow and reduce swelling.
Compression Therapy: Using compression garments or bandages to support lymphatic drainage and prevent fluid buildup.
Exercise Programs: Tailored exercises to improve muscle pump function and enhance lymphatic circulation.
Education and Self-Management: Providing education on skin care, infection prevention, lifestyle modifications, and self-care techniques to empower individuals in managing their lymphedema.
