Individual Learn to Bike & Learn To Swim Assessments

Has your child struggled to learn skills like riding a bike or learning to swim?

Our goal is to help every child experience the joy and freedom of riding a bike or swimming in the water. Learning these skills is about so much more than just the ability to succed. Biking and swimming provides important opportuity for social interactions, promotes outdoor play, and enhances the child's sense of independence and inclusion in recreational activities with family and friends.

During the assessment our physiotherapist, Sue Lawton, will work one-on-one with your child to understand their unique challenges and abilities related to biking or swimming.

She will do a comprehensive evaluation of the child's balance, coordination, strength, and motor skills and use a variety of techniques and equipment to assess the child's readiness and identify areas that may need improvement or support.

Based on the assessment findings, Sue will create a personalized plan that includes targeted exercises, balance training, and motor skill development activities. She focuses on building the child's confidence and competence in riding a bike safely and independently. If riding a traditional 2 wheeled bike is not an option, she will work with you to explore adaptive options.

Throughout the assessment process, we prioritize a supportive and encouraging environment, ensuring that the child feels motivated and empowered to overcome any biking challenges.
